About Circle
About Circle

We meet for social activities on the evening of the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.  Our programme includes activities such as Spanish evening, BBQ, clay pigeon shooting, cycling, sailing, laser quest, canoeing, chocolate making, aqua aerobics, theatre, massage, lots of eating out and a drink or two here and there.  We enjoy an annual weekend away and have visited destinations such as Dublin, Prague, Amsterdam and Madrid.  This year we are visiting Barcelona.

We raise money for charity and have supported local charities such as East Cheshire Hospice, Hollies Pre-School, Riding for the Disabled and Macclesfield Cancer Care.  We raise money at events such as our annual fashion show. We have also raised funds by taking part in a driving challenge and a zip-wire challenge for Marie Curie and Cancer Research 10k runs.  We help steward the Cancer Research Race for Life and assist Round Table with the Poynton Civic Bonfire and Santa Float collections.

We also share the fun with our families with a calendar of social events for adults and families during the year including sporting activities and parties. This year our events have included family rounder’s match and BBQ, day out at Crocky Trail in Cheshire, Family beach day at Formby, Abba Tribute at Gawsworth, Children’s Christmas Swim party,  Adult’s Christmas party night.

WHO JOINS AND WHY

Circlers are single and married women and come from all walks of life and join for many reasons - perhaps as a gateway to relaxation and enjoyment, or as a way of participating in the local community. It is an ideal way for those who have moved into a new area to find new friends of a similar age.
